On Monday, October 12, 2026, Sakata Warehouse/Sakata Group delivered a special lecture titled “What Are Logistics, Supply Chains, and 3PL?” as part of the “Special Seminar on Community Development C” course offered by the Faculty of Economics at Hannan University.
During the lecture, we explained the role and importance of logistics as social infrastructure, as well as the challenges facing the logistics industry. We also introduced our logistics outsourcing service, “Raku-Raku Soko®”, and led a group activity on the topic, “Is ‘Free Shipping’ Really Free?”
In a survey conducted after the lecture, we received high praise from many students, who shared the following feedback:
- “I realized that logistics isn’t just about moving goods—it’s supported by a variety of operations and systems.”
- “I had never really thought about shipping costs before, but when I stopped to think about it, I realized that someone is indeed covering those costs.”
- “I didn’t usually think about logistics, but this gave me a chance to consider it as an issue that affects my daily life.”
We hope this lecture will not only provide students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the logistics industry but also serve as a catalyst for reflection on the environment, the SDGs, and sustainable urban development, ultimately contributing to the development of talent that will support both local communities and the logistics industry in the future.
Sakata Warehouse/Sakata Group will continue to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities through collaboration with educational institutions, contributing to the development of the next generation of talent, the growth of the logistics industry, and the realization of sustainable local communities.
