Changes in the business environment for logistics

In recent years, the business environment in logistics has undergone major changes. This trend is particularly evident in transportation and delivery, and it has become necessary to consider and promote measures such as joint delivery.

The business environment is undergoing major changes.

The shortage of drivers is remarkable, and fares and wages (including hourly wages) will continue to rise.

In the transportation industry, driver shortages are becoming more prominent due to the aging of drivers and labor shortages.
In addition, it is expected that route carriers and courier companies will continue to request higher fares.

Customers (delivery destinations) are increasingly demanding delivery quality.

The outer box is also subject to complaints when it arrives, and the quality awareness of delivery is high.

Management and business development must focus on the long-term needs of society

Efforts to address and utilize the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are attracting attention.

We believe that promoting joint logistics and delivery will contribute to solving social problems, as we have been certified by the Law for Improving the Efficiency of Logistics (promoting CO2 reduction in transportation and delivery).

Common requests received in the beauty and hair care cosmetics industry

In response to the logistics needs (issues) that we hear about in the hairdressing and cosmetics industry, we propose “Raku-raku soko” to realize a new logistics collaboration.

Delivery efficiency is poor and we would like to consider joint delivery with other companies in the same industry. (Manufacturer)

We would like to respond to the needs for direct delivery to salons and their customers (individuals). (Manufacturer)

In-house logistics cannot manage inventory, and there is a limit to self-delivery by sales staff, so we would like to consider outsourcing to a specialist with a proven track record. (Small and medium-sized agencies)

We want to operate with a minimum inventory and no shortage. (Small and medium-sized agencies)

We want to efficiently supply products to each of our stores. (Large-scale salon)

Is the production inventory of the OEM / ODM destination overflowing and can it be stored at the distribution center? (Manufacturer)

When we deliver the products to salons, can we confirm delivery requests, provide sales support (canvassing), and conduct sales promotion activities on their behalf by delivering small items (promotional materials, etc.) at the same time? (Manufacturer)

Features of the new logistics collaboration using “Raku-raku soko”

Based on our “common warehouse” (distribution center), we will reduce costs and improve quality by promoting vertical and horizontal collaboration in storage, cargo handling, distribution processing, packaging, transportation and delivery, and distribution information.

  • We also propose new joint cargo handling, joint distribution processing, and joint packaging, as well as inventory reduction and shortage prevention through “New joint storage” such as so-called “Pay only for usage” and VMI system.
  • The new joint delivery system for deliveries from suppliers to common warehouses and from common warehouses to salons will reduce freight costs and improve the quality of transportation and delivery.

Our “Information Center” provides systems and information services related to order placement (shipping and receiving), warehouse (inventory) management, and transportation and delivery management.

  • By using the “Web Order System” for salons, which is compatible with smart devices, you can improve the efficiency of order-taking operations and related paperwork.
  • We also provide our own WMS/TMS and subsystems such as “Standard Cargo Tag Label System” and “Shipment Inspection System”.

Improving service and reducing CO2 emissions through joint delivery

Sakata Warehouse’s “Raku-raku soko” will reduce the risk of cargo misdelivery, late delivery, and damage, and improve efficiency and delivery service/logistics quality for agents and salons in the cosmetics industry through delivery by folding-container and joint delivery by dedicated delivery service (direct delivery service).
Furthermore, we will promote the reduction of vehicles and CO2 emissions through the joint delivery and direct delivery of products from multiple shippers.

Image of dedicated shared delivery service for salons

Sakata Warehouse’s “Raku-raku soko”, “Salon Co-delivery Service” for the cosmetics industry is a service that allows salons to receive products from multiple shippers in a single location.
This service reduces the number of vehicles and improves the efficiency of receiving cargo at salons through joint delivery and direct delivery of products from multiple shippers.

The following items will be implemented in the delivery service by the Salon Co-delivery Service.

(1) Wearing masks and gloves to ensure non-contact and safety and hygiene.
(2) Environmentally friendly by collecting cardboard boxes and bags at the time of delivery and reducing cushioning materials.
(3) Provision of additional services by staff dedicated to salons (e.g., response to requests).
