30th Workshop/Seminar and Webinar

“Designing a Sustainable Society”

-Considering “Three-way satisfaction” Management and New Supply Chains in the Era of SWGs (Sustainable Well-being Goals)-

Workshop/Seminar Overview

Date and time May 20, 2026(Wednesday) 13:30-16:30
Capacity (Venue capacity) 80 people / Online participation via Zoom (Free participation/Advance registration required)
Purpose of the Workshop/Seminar ➢  It is projected that Japan’s total population will fall below 100 million by 2050 and further decline to 63 million by 2100—roughly half of its peak level. Furthermore, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent increase in risks associated with climate change and natural disasters, there has been growing interest in societal “sustainability” and people’s “well-being.” We are now at a truly significant turning point in history.
➢  In this initiative, under the theme of “Designing a Sustainable Society,” we will focus on the SWGs—which are garnering attention as the next step beyond the SDGs. While drawing inspiration from traditional wisdom—such as the Omi merchants’ principle of “benefit for all three parties” and Eiichi Shibusawa’s *The Analects and the Abacus*—we will strive to gain new insights into the future of “life-related industries” and the “life economy,” as well as the supply chains associated with them.
